As the editor of one of the last independent newspapers in the country, your job is to remove and edit the content of your paper, affecting the people’s opinion of both the rebels and the Loyalist government. With an increase of rebel activity and an ever watching government breathing down your neck, whose truth will you print?FeaturesChange the content and meaning of your articles by censoring them to your liking. Too bad.. I really enjoyed playing this game. Part of the fun was trying to do everything well: protect my employees from getting fired, protect the paper from getting shut down by the loyalists, and still deliver actual news, all while hoping that what I do print will get the public thinking about what is really going on behind the scenes. It was particularily interesting to hear the employees' conversations in the break room. I plan to replay the game later to try to get different achievments. To do that I will employ a different strategy. Next time I will take some notes to which I will refer as I play. If I could give one piece of advice to the developer it would be to allow players to see what kind of news each part of Westport likes the best during the editing portion of the game. I'd love to be able to scroll over it to make better decisions at that point.I got this game on sale (I don't recall the price, but it was a good deal). I think it's worth the full price.. You are the editor of The Westport Independent with a oppressive government. You decide the future of your paper, employees and the country.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQjGvgQ93ZU. A really fun game to play with some friends or stream. Had a great time streaming this for the Kennedy Club Gaming channel, great audience engagment!. I like this game, however it is too short and not replayable, an endless mode would have served extremely well.. Papers, Please: The Less Stressful Edition. When it comes to it's theme, this game tackles similar topic as Papers, Please, the topic of social issues in a socialist state-like setting. It's even similarly short - according to Steam, it took me just 99 minutes, or a bit more than just an hour and a half, for a single playthrough, although there are multiple endings, depending on your in-game choices, just like in Papers, Please. The two even have similar art style. While they tackle similar topics, the way they tackle them is different. While in Papers, Please the main character is working in border immigration control, the main character in this game is the boss of a local newspapers who decides which topics will be covered in those newspapers and in what way. This game also drops Papers, Please' time limit in it's "levels" and the mechanic where the main characters needs to take care of his family's well-being. These two differences result in a much more relaxed gameplay, where the player doesn't need to worry about his or her performance that much.About the endings: it appears that each part of the country (though it actually appears to be a city in this game) receives it's own "ending", which one exactly indirectly depending on which news the player decides to cover and in what way. At the end, all these "separate" "endings" are then combined into a single ending, which reminds me of Long Live the Queen, another game that appears to pull off something similar. All in all, I think this game deserves a solid 8/10. It's not a GOTY, but it's not bad either.. People compare this to "Papers, Please", but they are quite different games. "Papers, Please" gets a sort of frantic feel as you try to work fast enough to earn money to support your family, while this game can be completed at your leisure and gives you time to think. The scales are also completely different; in this game you are impacting the political direction of an entire city, while in "Papers, Please" you have a much more immediate effect on single people as they enter your sphere of influence. Both games are excellent, and I think they provide pretty differently impactful experiences if you give each of them a chance.. Gameplay was random, the politics were laughably simplistic, and the delivery was awkward.. It's quite good. Some of the opinion bars could be clearer. Doesn't deserve the negative reviews it's received thus far.
